Welcome to Discipleship University, where we labor that Christ may be formed in you!
Our greatest focus is building disciples, who desire to major in Christ. Those who come to Discipleship University can expect to be trained to walk like Christ in life, while preparing for Christ's return.
If you are coming to visit or if God is sending you here to be discipled, we welcome you with much love. We know that whenever you come, God will have a word to encourage and equip you.
Jesus said in Matthew 28:19-20, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you..."
If you believe the Lord is leading you to become a disciple at Discipleship University, we welcome you to join us in the Classroom and at Street Ministry!

In John 17:6-8, Jesus prays to the Father, “I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word. Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you. For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me.
There are three things to take into consideration when seeking a local Church fellowship to become a disciple of:
1.) Do you believe this shepherd has been sent by God? (John 17:8)
Many people are turned off from going to church because of the bad experiences and misguidance they've received at the hands of self-proclaimed pastors who have not been gifted to pastorship and operate illegally in that office. This is nothing new. Jesus warned that many false apostles, prophets and teachers have crept in among the Church. But genuine and authentic pastors do exist. That's why it's so important to know that the shepherd you sit under has been called by God.
- I will give you shepherds [pastors] after My own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding. (Jeremiah 3:15)
- An elder must be blameless, faithful to his wife, a man whose children believe and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient. Since an overseer manages God’s household, he must be blameless—not overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain. Rather, he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined. He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it. (Titus 1:6-9)
- But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. (2 Peter 2:1-3)
- Beware of false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. (Matthew 7:15-16)
- Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. (1 John 4:1)
There are many good shepherds, but there are seasons when God will sit you under specific shepherds to minister to you according to your specific needs. Just like Moses to Joshua, Elijah to Elisha and Paul to Timothy, there are many teacher/disciple relationships in the Bible. But not every shepherd is qualified to speak into your life or ordained to care for your spiritually. There are specific shepherds whom God will choose to care for your soul. These shepherds may have a special anointing to pour out over you, wisdom to impart into you, or a mantle to pass down to you. It's important to sit under the right shepherd. They have been given a special grace to teach you and equip you for the service of work God has in store for you.
- Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away. (1 Peter 5:2-4)
- Keep watch over yourselves and the entire flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which He purchased with His own blood. (Acts 20:28)
- Remember your leaders who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. (Hebrews 13:7)
- Obey your spiritual leaders, and do what they say. Their work is to watch over your souls, and they are accountable to God. Give them reason to do this with joy and not with sorrow. That would certainly not be for your benefit. (Hebrew 13:17)
There are many pastors, but not many of them are preparing the saints for the coming of the Lord. Many pastors are simply motivational speakers who teach self-empowerment, while others preach blatant false doctrine, heresy or a prosperity gospel. Others exalt themselves over the word of God. But a true shepherd will keep you rooted and grounded in the word.
- So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17)
- For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake. (2 Corinthians 4:5)
- For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe. (1 Thessalonians 2:13)
