Baptism
Why Baptism?
Being baptized is not a requirement for salvation. Rather, it is a bold expression of salvation! Baptism is a public proclamation of your faith, and serves as an external, symbolic display of your inward decision to follow Christ. Baptism is a holy sacrament that Jesus himself has instituted within the Church. It is a monumental experience in the life of a new believer.
“They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.” Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house. At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and his entire household were baptized. The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God—he and his whole household.”
-Acts 16:31-34

When’s the best time to be baptized?
For everyone who decides to follow Jesus, baptism is the next step. Anyone who believes in Jesus for salvation and commits his or her life to following Him is ready to be baptized. Don’t wait until everything is perfect in your life to be baptized. Instead, trust that God will perfect you as you entrust Him with your life. Baptism is the beginning, not the end of the journey.
The eunuch answered Philip and said, “Please tell me, of whom does the prophet say this? Of himself or of someone else?” Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture he preached Jesus to him. As they went along the road they came to some water; and the eunuch said, “Look! Water! What prevents me from being baptized?” And Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” And he ordered the chariot to stop; and they both went down into the water, Philip as well as the eunuch, and he baptized him.
